  • DIRCO or the High Court, never both

    Sending a notarised document to DIRCO, or a Home Affairs certificate to the High Court, produces a rejection rather than a redirection. Sort the file into two piles before you start: state-issued documents to DIRCO, anything notarised to the High Court.

  • One post for nine countries

    Pretoria covers a large region, and applicants outside South Africa should confirm which local authority issues the equivalent police certificate and which body apostilles it. South Africa is also one of the few places where Croatian guidance names an individual translator, so ask the Embassy who it accepts before commissioning translations.
